Easthampton ART Adventure
Time & Location
About the Event
We begin at LongHouse Reserve, a 16 acre reserve and sculpture garden located in East Hampton, NY, featuring pieces from Buckminster Fuller, Yoko Ono and Willem de Kooning to name a few. Experiencing art in living spaces has a unique learning experience--more meaningful than the best media. LongHouse contains 13,000 square feet, and 18 spaces on four levels. The gardens present the designed landscape as an art form and there we will have a special tour and class from the Longhouse Expert staff.
After a quick lunch, he head for the Jackson Pollock Studio!
Built in 1879, the house is typical of the 19th century farmers’ and fishermen’s homes in Springs which Pollock and Krasner made into theiir home and studio. It contains all the furnishings and artifacts that were in the house at the time of Krasner’s death in 1984. An original late 1930s painting by Pollock, Composition with Red Arc and Horses, and prints by both artists are on display. Spead out on the lawn facing the beautiful bonac bay, the kids will be able to paint and climb trees getting the full experience!
